+++GRETCHIN+++Gretchin are more numerous than Orks, but the Orks are greatly dependent on them regardless of the size difference. Orks are lazy and forgetful, and organization is not their strong point. Most of the day-to-day running of Ork society - finding and preparing food, taking messages, handling information, fetching and carrying things, organizing belongings and so on are left to the Gretchin. Gretchins are a smaller breed of Orkoid, but are otherwise very similar. They share the same general skin tones and physical characteristics as Orks. Gretchin are not as brutal, strong, or tough as their larger cousins. Though smaller, they are, however, more clever and cunning. The Gretchins have created an entire enterprise culture of their own within Ork-dominated society. They work every hour of the day and night, snatching a little sleep here and there. Gretchins are quite happy in their roles as servants, and bear their masters no resentment. To the Gretchin, Orks are just a fact of life, and they fatalistically accept their place in the scheme of things. Most Gretchin are owned by Orks and used as personal servants. Others, through scavenging and looting, are able to acquire weapons and equipment. Enterprising Gretchin can thus find roles as armor-bearers, fan-bearers, and cup-bearers, and a few may even rise to become their master's factotums. In addition to the responsibilities to their Ork masters, many Gretchin operate businesses of their own on the side, selling fungus-wine or toasted Squigs on sticks in an effort to earn a few teeth here and there.
