+++Inquisitors and the+++
+++Ordo Malleus+++
Inquisitors are free-roaming special agents of the
Imperium and are boundby no laws or Authority. Every Inquisitor is empowered to
investigate anypossible or potential threat to the future of humanity; whether that
threatcomes in the form of political aggression, administrative inefficiency orgenetic
deviation. There are no bounds to the Inquisitor's field ofoperation: alien plots,
mutation, corruption, crime and incompetance allfall within his jurisdiction. Inquisitors
usually operate alone, independant of one another. They may also request aid from
theAdministratum of Terra, and this request is rarely not answered. The mostprominent
threat to humanity is, of course, psykers. They are ruthless in their apprehension and
execution of suspected psykers. The Inquisitor's work has earned him the title of
Witch-Hunter and Torturer. Whennecessary, he is both of these and things more terrible,
for any meansjustifies an end so vital as the protection of humanity.
The Ordo Malleus is also a part of the Inquisition,
although, secret. Noteven other Inquisitors know much about them... save they keep watch
overthe other Inquisitors. The origins of the Ordo are very ancient, andpredate the
Emperors being placed in the Golden Throne. Even though theOrdo watches the purity of the
Inquisition Ordinary, it is also chargedwith safe-guarding humanity against the creeping
forces of Chaos (somethingan ordinary Inquisitor knows nothing about). Unlike the
InquisitionOrdanary, the Ordo has a rigid hierarchy. It is controlled by a council of169
Masters, each of whom has a right to personal audience with theEmperor. Their authority
extends to even the Master of the Inquisition, and more than one has been tried and
executed by the Ordo Malleus. Belowthe Masters are the Proctors and the Proctors Minor,
each of whom controlsa Chamber of the Ordo. There are two Chambers the Chambers
Practical(those Ordo who operate in the field) and the Chambers Historical
&Theoretical (those Ordo who are to old for field work and simply doresearch).
The Ordo acts under the Emperor's warrant, and has a
_completely_ free hand.He can demand anything he wants to carry out his duty. An Imperial
servant(from the Adeptus Astartes to Chuckus the store clerk) must simply obey,
noquestions asked (Assassins are exempt from this, however). 75% of all OrdoChambers are
psychic. The military arm of the Ordo is the 666th chapter ofthe Adeptus Astartes, the
Grey Knights. However, both Space Marines andImperial Guard are often conscripted by the
Ordo for troops. It is worthnoting that such conscripted troops suffer a terrible fate...
not only arethey destined to face the mind-warping atrocities of Chaos, but after
thebattle, they are all killed by the Ordo Chamber and/or Grey Knights. Theyare, of
course, given posthumous honours for their having to die whileserving the Emperor and
saving Humanity. The Space Marines are toovaluable to simply kill, though. So, each Space
Marine who is conscripted toassist an Ordo is Mind-Scrubbed. He will not remember anything
abouteither the Ordo Chamber, the Grey Knights, being conscripted and what wasbattled
with. Indeed, those memories are destroyed.
