This is my adaption of the existing Arab and Saracen list to make it more appropriate for the Arab Conquest period. This is the time when the Mohammed started organising his followers and conquered the surrounding area, his immediate successors contiunued the work.. At this time most of his followers were desert tribesmen, and city dwellers. They beat the better equipped and armoured Persians in a battle at Qadisiya The Persian army even included elephants. The battle lasted for three days.
They had not started recruiting turkish cavalry yet, but they did have access to Persian Mercenaries and Askaris. This is a blatant rip off from the WRG lists. This could be used as an even earlier Arab army list, by just not upgrading the Religious Volunteers to Stubborn. As such they could be used as allies and opponents for Romans.
Horsemen from the Bedouin tribes of Arabia, as well as those from the Turkish tribes of Central Asia, were renowned for their mobility. Cavalry so designated in the list may, regardless of the amount of armour carried by the rider, or the speed of the horse, follow this special rule. (Designer's Note: this is identical to the "Fast Cavalry" rule in Warhammer Fantasy Battle, without the restrictions for saving throw and move rate.) During their move, they are allowed to turn without incurring any penalties on their move distance. They are permitted to change their formation once during their movement by any number of ranks and with no penalty to their move. Their manoeuvrability is so great that they can even take advantage of their ability to turn and/or change formation while marching.
